One of my favorite browsing spots is tucked away in a tiny yellow bungalow in Sellwood, just south of Stars Antiques.
Wallace Books is a book junkie’s dream, with new and used inventory stacked to the ceiling and overflowing from shelf and counter. The children’s section has its own room at the back of the shop, in what I believe was originally the garage. While the selection of new children’s books is not huge, the used collection is diverse and is a great opportunity to dig through boxes and bins to find a hidden treasure. The knowledgeable staff can help if you’re looking for a specific title or author, but I love just stopping in on a rainy day and seeing what strikes me.
